Growl for Windows 2.0.2 Change Log
* Changes:
- improved initial startup time (should be <1 second for a standard installation)
- reduced memory usage, both during normal operation and cumulatively after GfW has been running for a long time (both of the above were partially an indirect result of decoupling the History from the main operation of the application)
- loads of code cleanup (removing event handlers, better Dispose() operations, etc)
- improved tab icons (less jaggy)
- added support for data: URIs in *-Icon headers
- added support for Forwarder and Subscriber plugins
- added notify.io integration (via Subscriptions)
- removed hidden splash screen (found the root cause of the bug that was requiring it)
- improved debug information gathering
- made a change so that registrations/notifications are no longer forwarded if they are disabled
- changed auto-update check interval from 4 hours to 24 hours
- fixed a bug that caused an additional -ERROR response to be sent after the last -OK or -CALLBACK response
- fixed a bug that could cause loss of application preferences if specified display is no longer available
- fixed a bug that could cause the (supposed to be hidden) splash screen to appear and hang the app
- fixed a bug that could cause GfW to crash if the response to a check for update is missing or malformed
- fixed a bug that prevented GfW from detecting when Bonjour-based forwards went offline (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=430732)
- released Webhook Forwarder plugin
- released RSS/Atom Feed Subscription plugin
* IMPORTANT UPGRADE NOTES:
- All history items will be cleared when upgrading to this version due to a change in how history notifications are serialized to disk
- Additional displays will no longer be loaded from the program folder (ex: c:\\Program Files\\Growl\\Displays); all additional displays must be installed in the one of the following locations:
User\\\'s personal folder: %USERPROFILE%\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Growl\\2.0.0.0\\Displays\\AllUser\\\'s folder: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\\Application Data\\Growl\\2.0.0.0\\Displays\\ (If the same display is found in both locations, the display in the user\\\'s personal folder takes precedence.)
